Schema markup (structured data) helps search engines understand your content better. It can enable rich snippets—those enhanced search results with stars, prices, FAQs, and more. The Schema Markup Checker shows you what structured data exists on any page.

What is Schema Markup?

Schema markup is code that tells search engines what your content means, not just what it says. The main formats are:

  • JSON-LD — The recommended format. Sits in a script tag, easy to add.
  • Microdata — HTML attributes added to existing elements. Older format.
  • RDFa — Similar to Microdata. Less common today.

Why Schema Matters for SEO

  • Rich snippets — Stars, prices, FAQs in search results
  • Knowledge panels — Organization and person info boxes
  • Better understanding — Google knows your content type
  • Voice search — Structured data powers voice answers

Step 1: Enter a URL

Type or paste any webpage URL. The tool fetches the page and scans for all structured data.
